Kim Chiu, Xian Lim confirm split

Kim Chiu confirms split with Xian Lim

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim have split after 12 years together.

On Instagram, Kim announced the “end of a love story.”

The "It's Showtime" host said that it took her a while to say it, but they owe their supporters the truth while respecting each other’s time of healing.

“In a relationship, love is always a significant factor, but sometimes love is not enough,” she said.

She continued, “We shared more than a decade of love, each other’s support system, and many beautiful memories. It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship. We thank all our followers for their love and support, but now we ask you to appreciate our honesty and give us the privacy we need as we begin new chapters of our lives. To all our supporters, maraming salamat for all the love and understanding.”

Kim then thanked Xian “for the almost 12 years of beautiful memories together one can never imagine."

"You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for showing me what love is,” she added.

She ended her post by asking for kindness and respect.

“I hope this clears everything as we all move forward with our lives,” she said.

Following Kim’s post, Xian also took to Instagram to pen a letter for Kim.

“Dearest Kim, thank you for the long years we have spent loving each other,” he wrote.

The Kapuso actor added that spending 12 years of his life with Kim was the “best gift” he could ever ask for.

“We have expressed our love for each other to the fullest, and knowing that I got to share those [moments] with you, knowing our hearts beat as one at one point in our lives is truly something I will cherish for life,” he said.

Xian continued, “Like all good things, it must eventually come to an end. I am grateful for all the moments we shared together. Thank you for all the unconditional love throughout the years. My respect and admiration for you as a person, as an artist, and as someone I spent more than a decade with will always remain.”

He then wished that Kim would find all the happiness and love she was searching for, saying she deserved nothing but the best.

Xian ended his post by writing, “No goodbyes here, i'll see you around petunia.”

Rumors of their breakup have been circulating since November, prompting Xian to issue a statement.

He had asked "everyone to be mindful of what you chose to believe in deceiving headlines and other information used to just pretend to know the whole story for personal gain and traction."

Earlier this month, the Kapuso actor took down his YouTube videos, including his vlogs with Kim.
